Social Action (Ways to make a difference)

S. O. M. E. (So Others Might Eat)
Backgound

S.O.M.E. Many members in our church cooperate to provide casseroles, fresh fruit, and beverages on the first Saturday of each month.

So Others Might Eat (SOME) is an interfaith organization that feeds nearly 800 people daily in Washington, DC. We believe that serving the needs of the poor is everyone's job.

SOME's mission is twofold. First we meet immediate needs with food, clothing, hot showers, medical and dental care. Once immediate needs are met, SOME attacks the root causes of homelessness with mental illness treatment, substance abuse programs, job training, and long-term, affordable housing.
