This special program was designed to help our Eighth (8) grade youth
broaden and deepen their understanding of Unitarian Universalism and give
them the background and history of our church here in Silver Spring. This
is an optional program outside the Sunday morning Religious Education
Class for this age group only.
Beginning in January our Coming of Agers use the guidance and support
of caring adults:
- to clarify their personal values and beliefs,
- to learn more about the structure, philosophy and governance of the
Unitarian Universalist Association and the Unitarian Universalist Church
of Silver Spring,
- to spend time with and have the guidance of their personal mentor,
and
- to have a variety of opportunities to put their beliefs into practice.
The Coming of Age Program officially ends in May with a community Worship
Service to honor the young people who have completed this program.
