UUCSS Choir
The choir is the heart of the music program. From September to
June, the choir sings at worship services, usually two or three
Sundays a month, and at other church events. There are two ways
to sing with the choir:
- Join us for rehearsal on Thursday evenings at 7:30 in the Sanctuary;
- Participate in a Flexible Rehearsal Arrangement.
The choir is open to everyone who enjoys singing. Some experience
with reading music is helpful, but not necessary. It has been said
that the choir has more fun than any other group in the church.
Laughter accompanies most rehearsals!
Flexible Rehearsal Arrangement
A Flexible Rehearsal Arrangement is a work-from-home, self study
opportunity. Simply pick up a rehearsal packet from the music desk,
learn the music at home using the CD provided, and join us for
a dress rehearsal and Sunday morning performance. Packets are available
two weeks in advance; all details are included and everyone is
welcome. Pick up the Flexible Rehearsal Arrangement Frequent Asked
Questions available on the music desk (1st floor, Sanctuary Bldg.)

Mass Choir
Performing for the first time in 2003, this is a group designed
to be a robust and vibrant choir that gathers for special music
services. For our holiday service celebrating Hanukah, Christmas,
and Kwanzaa, the Mass choir is accompanied by the Orchestra
for a Musical Extravaganza Sunday.
Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir is a growing ensemble at UUCSS. Children
work with our Music Directors during Children’s Chapel and
during other rehearsal times.
Annual Choir Events
- Catoctin Choir
Individuals at Catoctin, a UUCSS fall
camping retreat, come together for a special choir experience
that, like
the rest of Catoctin, is unique and magical every year.
- Christmas Eve Choir
Many people who enjoy Christmas
carols join us each year for this special celebration of Christmas.
Individuals
may choose to sing for either or both of our Christmas Eve
Services.
- Summer Choir
Twice each summer this group sings at summer
services. Rehearsals are held on specific Sunday mornings
during the summer.
