RUMMAGE SALE The annual church rummage sale every September, usually
from 9 am to 3 pm. Donations are accepted in the Community Hall
on Wed-Fri evening the week before the event, usually between 6:30
and 8:30 pm. The Rummage Sale needs volunteers who can staff the
rummage sale and the donation nights, supply signs, post flyers,
and there is a special place in the Rummage Sale's heart for those
who are willing to bring donate the use of their truck or other
sizable vehicle. Please see Laura Ellis at Coffee Hour for more
details and to volunteer.
The rummage sale aides the mission of UUCSS in four important ways.
It raises money for the church, it provides good used furniture, books, toys, household items, and other potential treasures, furniture and other items to the large community at a reasonable
cost, particularly those members on a tight budget, it provides an opportunity for
members to serve the church hand in hand with each other, and, last
but not least, it provides members with a reason to clean out closets
and attics, knowing that the objects they discard will have a useful
second life.
