We
currently have a Discussion List with Yahoo!
Groups. It includes
around two fifths of the church Members, Friends, and Parents.
Membership on this list is restricted to church Members, Friends,
and Parents.
This
list
was
started
in June 2000.
Subscribers to this list sometimes post notices of events at UUCSS,
and they oftne list discuss current topics and events,
particularly those that
related
to the
Washington,
D.C.
metropolitan
area.
Most anything goes: political, environmental, social action, entertainment,
etc. We generally avoid discussing serious church business because
we believe
in democracy, and not all members are represented on this listserv.

Most Members and Friends who resign from UUCSS, choose to stay
on another 6 months or so. Breaking away slowly helps ease their
transition
to their new home. After 1 year of resigning, their subscription
to this list is terminated.
Caring List
Members have been benefiting tremendously from another list, our Caring
List. Members who are sick or who are going through
trying times may not have the time or energy to call dozens of
people
for help and be turned down dozens of times. The Caring
Coordination Committee Chairperson sends out requests for support. These e-mails
are sent
out to a much larger percentage of our membership, so members
who
are in need typically get excellent an response and pretty quickly.
Currently Jim Aldrich is in charge of this list. If you are a
member or friend and you haven't been receiving these e-mails,
please contact Jim.
