Denominational Affairs
The Denominational Affairs liaison encourages our congregation's interest in and support of the activities of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and the Joseph Priestly District (JPD). These groups sponsor many beneficial programs, such as those listed to the right.
Support: JPD, and UUA are supported by dues assessed on each congregation in their respective regions according to size. Some portion of dues must be paid for a church to maintain voting rights in each organization. UUCSS is a full "fair share" congregation and sends voting delegates to UUA General Assembly and the JPD Conference.
Programs
- UUA General Assembly, at which we are entitled to several delegates;
- JPD conferences and leadership training days;
- JPD Chalice Lighters program to give grants to support and encourage new and existing congregations;
- UU United Nations Office
